Starting a collection... |
|
Ok, I decided to start a computer and electronic gadget/toy vintage collection. I picked up an Atari STfm 1040 and an Amiga 1200 from EBay this week. The Amiga was a great buy, looks like new. Not had time to try the Atari yet, but was playing Sensible Soccer on the Amiga and it was a blast
Also won a Grandstand Astro Wars and a Casio Tone VL-1..... ah the memories.
Now to find a Big Trak

good luck on the big track,
I've been looking for 1 for yearssss . the only ones I manage to find really have shown wear and age . and the fact they uses touchpad metal popup buttons for the input doesn't help with wear either
I'm looking at getting another Amiga local . I know the guy and the machine so its all great, he has to sell it to help buy some building overcosts so I told him it would have a great home
It's an amiga 1200 with double the onboard Ram (did a solder socket to 2 double sided sockets and increased the onboard memory 2 fold) and has a expansion card with the 040 chip in it with 16 meg extra with a 80 gig i believe 2.5 HD .
Basically, even tho it's outdated and will prob never see any of its true power, it will still haul but . now i just need to get Ram to back up his floppies and put em on a server lol
Also found one of the earlier first Atari system's, Tape Driven, Atari A.D.A.M. I believe , then I already have some of the older consoles like atari 2600 and 5200, colecovision
Bought several old handhelds like Mr. Wizzard, first and 10, hmm something quarterback "ahh the red LED's lol" and hmm the first actual interchangable faceplate or cartridge handheld game . the microvison handheld by milton bradley with block buster, star trek, bowling and pinball

I was wondering if there was any way to connect the Amiga to the Lan... did they ever make ethernet cards? or do you have to run something like spurp/slip over serial and connect to a linux box?
Anyone out there know?
Richie.
PS: not done any google searching on it yet

Yea ,
but the stuff they have are multi in ones like ethernet lan, AT adapter things like that
unlike the PC they can have multiple devices working off a single device without conflict
I have a page somewhere, I'll dig it up but its an online store that still sells almost all amiga1200 peripherals . they even have the 3.9 ROM upgrade I believe
as for getting your drive working on workbench . they dont refer to it as seating or FDISK . try looking up mounting on the amiga1200 .
ahhh here it is . try this place http://www.softhut.com/cgi-bin/test/Web_store/web_store.cgi
they still sell alot of Amiga Hardware
